SAT School Day (for Juniors only)

Bio-Medical Engineering Society Workshop (presented by 2019 Alum)
March 26, 2021 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
All interested Arete Prep high school students are invited to explore Biomedical Engineering through a hands on event, Friday, March 26th from 3:30-5:00pm at Arete Prep.
Alum Tina Aridi (Class of 2019) will be facilitating a 90 minute workshop with her Biomedical Engineering Society peers that will help high school students explore what Biomedical Engineering is all about.
This 90 minute presentation will provide an overview of the major and then give high school students a mini BME project to complete within the event time. Students will be provided with a country, a problem within the country to solve, research and solution drafting time which will conclude with presentations and prizes.
Interested students can sign up outside of the College Counseling offices or email Lead College Counselor Ms. Arguello to participate (rarguello@areteprepacademy.org).
This event is available to in-person and distance learning students. A zoom link will be provided to students who sign up.

Monday - No Theme - Normal uniform requirementsapply.
Tuesday – Tie Dye Day -Students may wear a tie dyed shirt and accessories such as a mask, headband,and wristbands that meet or exceed the modesty standards of the dress code.Uniform pants/shorts/skirts must be worn. Pleaseplan to pay $1 to participate, benefiting the class of 2022 senior trip!
Wednesday – Field Day! A moredetailed dress code for this day will be sent home prior to the event.
Thursday – Crazy Sock and Tie Day –Students may wear any fun and colorful socks and ties that meet or exceed themodesty standards of the dress code. Uniform polos/oxfords andpants/shorts/skirts must be worn. Please planto pay $1 to participate, benefiting the class of 2022 senior trip!

Tentative- Practice ACT (Juniors Only)

Tentative event: This event will only take place if more than 50% of juniors opt in.
On Saturday, April 10th, Ms. Arguello will be offering current Juniors an opportunity to take a practice ACT.
This test is 3.5 hours from start to finish.
Students can also take a practice test online at ACT.org if they prefer a computer based test with immediate result feedback.

Senior Class Photo and Cap and Gown Photos
April 16, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 9:30 am
Cap and Gown Pictures and Senior Class Photo will be taken on Friday, April 16th. Please arrive on campus in uniform AND with your cap and gown (and tassel), so that both your senior group photo and individual cap and gown photo can be taken.
This event is for Seniors- Class of 2021 only.
Pictures begin at 9:00am
- April 16 @ 9 am – Senior Cap and Gown Pic’s: this is a ¾ formal shot of seniors in their cap and gowns.
- Boys should wear their oxfords with a tie for the picture, girls should roll their collars down for the picture, unless they plan to have a collar show for graduation. Girls hair styles should be worn so the cap can be positioned correctly on their heads.
- (The correct angle of the graduation cap would be where the front tip of the mortarboard appears dead center on your forehead, between your eyes. The elastic band and tag should be centered on the back of the head. Do not tilt cap back, it should sit directly on top of your head.)

Dress CodeExpectations
- All clothing should be neat, clean and in good repair. Rips, tears, and tattered items or items with holes are considered out of dress code.
- Clothing displaying offensive or suggestive logos, labels, and phrases is strictly off limits.
- Necklines should be no lower than an imaginary line between the tops of the armpits.
- Tank tops and dresses are only allowed if the strap is at least three fingers wide. Spaghetti straps and halter tops are not permitted.
- Sheer clothing and exposed midsections (front, back or side) are unacceptable.
- All dresses and skirts must be at least to finger-tip length. Shorts must be at least to thumb length.
- Gym shorts, sweatpants, joggers, leggings, and other athletic attire are prohibited
- T-shirts, sweatshirts, and other similar tops may notbe paired with leggings.
Senior Soiree (Formal Senior Event)

All current Arete Seniors are invited to the Senior Soiree, a Monte Carlo themed night, on May 8th from 7- 10 p.m. in the Arete Gym.
Safety guidelines still apply (masks, social distancing when eating, available hand sanitizing stations). The dress code is formal and the specifics can be found here.
